Portales, NM -- Eastern New Mexico got it second women's basketball win of the season Tuesday with an 87-52 thashing of WNMU in the Greyhound Arena. Eastern (2-0) also defeated Western November 15 in Silver City.
WNMU (0-4) shot just 36 percent from the field and recorded 38 turnovers. Eastern outrebounded the Stangs 46-39 and shot 45 percent from the field.
Western had three players in double digits, led by Whitney Lewis' strong presence inside the key. Lewis finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tannesia Manley and Natalie Lara added 10 points apiece for the Mustangs, while Nicole Ruegsegger contributed eight points and nine boards.
WNMU returns to action Thursday night against Western State at the Mesa State Invitational in Grand Junction, CO.
